SAAF SAAR SAAUSB SAA232 Data Loggers

Data Loggers

[Note 1: Measurand DL1 (formerly DC) logger is no longer available, but will continue to be supported for existing installations.

Note 2: some configurations may require Measurand’s new AIA-ready SAAFs.]

Measurand now fully supports the Campbell Scientific CR1000 and CR800 loggers. The CR1000 is capable of running with 20 SAAFs. The CR800 is limited to 10 SAAFs. Either logger can accept a wide variety of other sensors. Measurand is an authorized reseller of Campbell Scientific equipment.

SAAFs connected to a CR800 or CR1000 logger require an interface between the SAAF and a serial port on the logger. A single SAAF can be attached to a serial port with a Measurand SAA232 interface. This approach is recommended for one or two SAAFs. Beyond that, it is recommended to use the Measurand SAA232-5 interface. Through that interface, up to five SAAFs can be connected to a single logger serial port.

For additional information on SAA232 and SAA232-5, see the corresponding product page on this website.

When more than one SAAF is attached, and/or for long SAAFs, ask about the new AIA feature for SAAF:

AIA, or “averaging in array” is available with most new SAAs and greatly speeds the acquisition of data from an SAAF. The in-array microprocessors read the sensors at high speed until enough samples are acquired within the array to produce an average of up to 25,000 readings. The shortening of acquisition time is dramatic: over 1000:1 for typical arrays.
